ANNOUNCING THE ENGAGED SCHOLARS INITIATIVE

Campus Compact of the Midwest has announced the Engaged Scholars Initiative (ESI). The initiative will select and support a small cohort of engaged scholars and scholar-practitioners who can advance co-created knowledge, critically engaged pedagogies, institutional change, and collaborative action to address societal issues. Michigan State University, the University of Kansas, and the University of Minnesota are strategic partners for the initiative, providing critical leadership and financial support. Campus Compact is now seeking applications from scholars interested in participation. Mary Ryan Named Inaugural Director of Campus Compact for the Great Plains

Campus Compact has selected Mary Ryan as the inaugural Director of Campus Compact for the Great Plains. Ryan, who has spent the last 26 years as an administrator at the University of Kansas, will lead the new coalition of colleges and universities to advance the public purposes of higher education across Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota. As Director, Ryan will spearhead coordinated civic and community engagement efforts among the region’s colleges and universities.
